Just installed Windows 7 - 64 bit and MSTS installed OK using compatibility to XP. However, I am having problems trying to install SCE into the non-default location of MSTS. I point the standard installer to L:\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator and continually get an error "Unable to create directory .\MakingTracks Support Files\SCE" I have installed MSTS BIN and tried installing SCE both standard and Bin installer but get the same result. Can anyone suggest where I am going wrong??

Since writing the above I have installed successfully both "London & South East" and "Great Eastern". I have tried to install SCE again but still get the error.
I am curious why the directory, the installer can`t create, begins with "." ie .\Making Track Support Files\SCE and wonder if this is causing the problem. If so, how do I change it?

I dont appear to have SCE installed frm the CD, but the MakingTracks Support Files folder we use normally does not have . at the front No one else has reported this..
Have you run the installer as administrator ?

Did you manually change to that installation folder?
I've just run an install whereby I changed the destination to: f:\sce
the MT support files were still installed to f:\microsoft games\train simulator
(the default location from the registry). Trying to install as admin may work - failing that, you may need to look at the folder permissions of the default installation folder.

Thanks for your replies, guys.
I ended up by uninstalling everything and then reinstalling MSTS followed by SCE which went thru OK. I wonder if the MSTSBin patch is compatible with Win 7 and that could have caused a problem. Certainly without it SCE installed OK
